I have a 218 Permit here in Idaho. I am in Washington at least once a week and just came back from Montana. Idaho permits Concealed Carry W/O a permit. If you go into Canada, DO NOT have a Firearm, they make no exceptions, period, do not tell them you are a retired LE Officer as I got raked over the coals by a Canadian Customs Officer. When asked about firearms I replied no I am a retired LE Officer and know the rules. That set her off…….
The once a year requirement to qualify is a pain, there is movement to make it 5 years, hope they get it thru…….
If you travel in the states it is the best way to go……..

As I expected, after contacting the Chief of Patrol, headquarters rectified the situation and contacted the retired warden. Yes, I know that I am biased because I believed, especially after spending half of my career at headquarters, that the Chief would do the right thing, and he did.

This is scary. Has anyone had this problem? Makes you wonder if you have to have a permanent attorney on retainer.
