For example, Medicare does not cover acupuncture. But Anthem will still cover at 80%. (Anthem will only cover at 80%, because of Medicare’s denial) So it’s worth checking with Anthem before giving up, to see what their coverage will be.
On another matter, staying in (or joining) PORAC Retired, (PORAC RAM) also allows you eligibility to buy their firearms LDF coverage, which is $48 year. A good insurance to have! The RAM membership is $30 year.

Hi Bob
Hi Bob
I am great.

Also, anthem blue cross is available even if you don’t belong to retired Porac. No cost. The only problem is that if Medicare does not cover your issue–anthem blue cross will not cover it either.

Your VA is the best bet going.

The cost is zero. I have VA, Medicare and Anthem Blue Cross so am covered all over.
Also if you join PORAC, $26 a year as a retired member you get your Anthem Blue Cross for $0 cost to you. That is for self and wife or SO.

1. Cal Pers in supplemental to Medicare. If Medicare does not cover a medical service–Cal Pers supplemental will not cover it either. The medicare coverage book describes what Medicare will cover. Your provider must code the service exactly as medicare dictates–or no coverage.
2. Cal pers has now required most of us to convert our drug coverage to Medicare Part D. Standby to see your drug coverage go down the tubes.
