Retired California Game Warden

History

I have been working on the history of Game Wardens in California for several years. I started with an article about the History of the California Department of Fish and Game that was published in the Department’s magazine, Outdoor Cal, several years ago.

(Although the Department of Fish and Game changed it’s name to the Department of Fish and Wildlife several years ago, I still refer to the old name since that was the name that I worked with for about 30 years and old habits die hard.)

Over the years, this published “History of California Game Wardens” has been greatly expanded, and is an ongoing work in progress.
